The big problem with the vision of the future is that it leaves out touch. A tactile interface will, in most situations, be preferable to gestures. A tactile interface provides feedback. Can you a imagine a percussionist without drums? It just looks awkward and silly, like and air guitar contest in the microsoft’s vision. As infants, touch is crucial to our development, and remains pivotal in our relations as adults. To be more effective the kinetic needs to be paired up with tactile surfaces & interfaces. Gestures are too inaccurate for many purposes.
